Gateway Adult Residential Care operates multiple 24/7 residential care facilities dedicated to providing compassionate care to adults struggling with mental health issues, including Dementia, Alzheimer's, brain injuries, challenging behaviors, and aging-related needs. Position Summary:
Are you a natural leader passionate about guiding and supporting your team? As a Caregiver C-IV Supervisor, you will manage the daily workflow of our Caregivers at the assigned campus, ensuring quality compliance and effective resolution of workplace issues. You will be responsible for scheduling, coaching, and monitoring your team's progress, enforcing rules, and ensuring quality compliance. This role requires strong communication and leadership skills and the ability to resolve workplace issues effectively. Your leadership will help create a nurturing and safe environment for our residents and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Management:
- Manage daily workflow and schedule of caregivers.
- Provide staff and facility support in the absence of the Administrator or Assistant Administrator.
- Complete daily shift rosters detailing staff and resident activity.
- Conduct daily reports with oncoming and departing shift Supervisors.
- Perform daily walk-throughs of homes and complete any assigned tasks.
- Ensure monthly fire drills are conducted and properly documented.
- Handle and troubleshoot emergencies on campus.
- Human Resources:
- Provide training and orientation to staff.
- Conduct facility tours in the absence of Administration.
- Fill in as needed for shift deficits/treatments/insulin administration.
- Collect shift change rounds reports.
- Ensure new team members and annual evaluations are completed on time.
- Supervise and counsel employees, address work quality issues, and conduct performance reviews.
- Monitor break periods and ensure adherence to company policies and legal regulations.
- Support and Coordination:
- Supervise and instruct all floor staff.
- Ensure ongoing daily supervision of caregiving staff.
- Participate in training required by accreditation standards and performance and quality improvement efforts.
- Attend department meetings and perform other related duties as assigned.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Six or more months of supervisory experience.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
- At least six months experience working in adult residential care or a facility serving persons with dementia.
Required Qualifications:
- Employed by Gateway Adult Care for six or more months.
- Up to date on all training requirements, including First Aid and Food Handlers.
- At most, two unexcused absences in the last 90 days (excluding PTO or protected time off).
- Minimum of six months as a C-II or above at Gateway Adult Care or one year as a previous medication passer at a residential care facility.
- Basic computer skills.
- Demonstrated leadership and assertiveness skills.
- Ability to successfully problem-solve with co-workers and residents.
- Obtain and keep current CPR and Food Handlers Card.
- Complete Supervisor Training within a year of hire.

Physical Requirements:
- Environment: Frequently work indoors, rarely outdoors, with exposure to air conditioning, central heat, and chemicals/cleaning supplies.
- Movement: Perform tasks involving frequent lifting (up to 50-200 pounds), standing, walking, bending, kneeling, squatting, crouching, reaching, and twisting.
- Exposure: Frequent exposure to chemicals/cleaning supplies and possible contagious diseases, aggressive and/or dangerous residents.
- Social Environment: Handle high-volume work, multiple or complicated tasks, and work closely with others in a team setting.
- Specifics: Standing (constantly), sitting (frequently), driving (frequently), bending/kneeling (constantly), squatting/crouching (constantly), reaching (frequently), twisting (frequently), speaking (constantly), hearing (constantly), seeing (constantly), reading (constantly), distinguishing color (constantly), grasping (constantly), wearing gloves (constantly), and using machinery to lift residents (frequently).
